Ms. Real is the creator of a Committee of Continuing Existence called Citizens for Better Courts, a non-profit Committee of Continuing Existence created to promote an increased awareness of the performance of the Courts in Florida's Tampa Bay area. CFBC's Charter is: "to help the average citizen, who must vote for various Judges, become better equipped to evaluate the performance of the Judges serving the people of the Tampa Bay area." Founder
Ms. Real is the founder of Courtwatch, a non-profit corporation. Courtwatch's goal is to provide opportunities for the average citizen to observe how domestic violence related criminal and civil cases are handled in the courtrooms and to provide feedback regarding these observations to the courts, prosecutors, the attorneys who defend those accused of committing acts of domestic violence and the public at large. Courtwatch's objective is to sensitize the public regarding the consequences of violence in the home, especially as they relate to children.

This position involved the prosecution of individuals accused of committing crime. Ms. Real served in most prosecutorial divisions including traffic, juvenile, and misdemeanor, with her last year devoted to felony prosecution. Ms. Real was also privileged to represent the State of Florida in an appeal to the Second District Court of Appeals involving the interpretation of one of Florida's gambling statutes.

This publication, prepared for the Florida Senate, documented the results of a study about whether it would be in the interest of the people of the State of Florida to consolidate county welfare systems with the state welfare system.
